The Ngoni people of Ntcheu belong to the Maseko Ngoni, one of the two major Ngoni groups in Malawi. Their leadership is guided by a traditional chieftaincy system centered around the Inkosi ya Makhosi (Paramount Chief). Current Paramount Chief Inkosi ya Makhosi Gomani V (Willard Gomani), installed in 2012. He is the cultural and traditional leader of the Maseko Ngoni, with headquarters at Lizulu, Ntcheu.
